!!!Rodaun

Rodaun, alt. 266 m, suburb in the 23%%sup rd/%  district of Vienna, 
where the Liesingbach stream (rising in the Vienna Woods) enters the 
Vienna basin; autonomous municipality until 1938. Wine growing, 
ancient summer resort, largely urbanized. First documented mention as 
"Radune" in 1170. Baroque parish church (1746); palace with 
medieval tower and Renaissance gate (1578); since 1902 monastery of 
Santa Christiana; Fuchs or Hofmannsthal-Palace, built by Maria 
Theresia for her educator Countess C.  Fuchs; served as residence of 
Hugo von  Hofmannsthal in the 20%%sup th/%  century; residence 
and place of death of M.  Grengg.
