b. Aich (municipality of Velden am Woerther See, Carinthia), May 10, 
1941, building contractor. After training as a mason worked abroad, 
returned to Austria in 1966; 1968 founded the company Rogner Austria 
in Villach and a chain of hotels in 1967. Specializes in the 
revitalization of old buildings (e.g. Hotel Biedermeier-Suennhof, 
Vienna; Hotel National, Moscow) and in the planning and construction 
of holiday villages and thermal spas. 1989 construction of the 
Austrian village in the Armenian region hit by earthquakes. 
Europa-Nostra Prize for successful revitalization 1981, awarded 
Bau-Oscar 1991.
