Rudenkirtag,  Kirtag of the "Ruden", peasant  
Burschenschaften, or of any of the similar organisations which came 
later. Rudenkirtag takes place on Mardi Gras, or Shrove Tuesday, in 
Sierning (Upper Austria) when "Tanzruden" from the 
Traunviertel region come together in a friendly competition consisting 
of two parts: dancing the  Laendler and singing popular Austrian tunes 
known as "G´stanzln" ( Schnadahuepfl).
