!!!Rudolf, Leopold

Rudolf, Leopold, b. Vienna, May 3, 1911, 
d. Vienna, June 4, 1978, actor; husband of M.  Degler. Trained at the 
Reinhardt-Seminar drama school, 1937 debut in Salzburg, then at 
various German theatres until, in 1945, R.  Steinboeck called him to 
the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna to play character parts; 
member of the company until his death (acted in plays by A. 
Schnitzler, H. v. Hofmannsthal, F. Raimund, J. Nestroy, H. Ibsen, 
J. A. Strindberg, L. Pirandello, etc.). Worked in films and on 
television. 1965 awarded the Kainz Medal.
