!!!Rupert Hruodpert, Ruodbert, auch Ruprecht, Heiliger

b. around 650, 
d. (probably) Worms (Germany), March 27, 716. patron saint of the 
archdiocese and province of Salzburg, also of mining, of salt miners, 
against erysipelas and convulsions in children; portrayed with a salt 
bucket in his hand. came to Salzburg around 696, became its first 
bishop and founded the monastery of St. Peter and the convent on the 
Nonnberg (for his niece  Ehrentrudis). The Herbstrupertitag festival 
celebrated in Salzburg on Sept. 24 commemorates the same date in 774, 
when his bones were moved to the newly built cathedral.
