b. Vienna, Oct. 15, 1950, manager and politician with the Social 
Democratic Party (SPOe); worked for the OeMV (now OMV) petroleum 
company from 1976-1997; last held the position of deputy managing 
director. 1997-1999 Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance, 
since January 1, 2000 again member of the board at OMV.
