!!!Sölktal

Soelk Valley, Styria, southern lateral valley of the Enns Valley
situated in the Schladminger Tauern Mountains, drained by
Grosssoelkbach and Soelkbach streams (from the Grosssoelk reservoir to
the end of the valley near Stein an der Enns, alt. 694 m).
The Grosssoelkbach stream starts as the confluence of many small
headwater streams near Hochstubofen mountain (alt. 2,385 m);
villages of St. Nikolai im Soelktal (alt. 1,127 m) and
Moessna (alt. 1,013 m). From Grosssoelk (alt. 941 m) the
Soelkbach stream flows through a 25 km long narrow and winding
valley. Kleinsoelkbach stream, which is formed near Kesslerkreuz (alt.
989 m) by the confluence of Schwarzensee stream and Strieglerbach
stream, joins the Soelkbach near Grosssoelk. The whole region forms
the "Naturpark Soelktaeler".
