!!!Sacher, Hotel

Hotel behind the Vienna State Opera, 
opened in 1876 by Eduard Sacher as "maison meublee", the 
management by Anna  Sacher was of special importance; now owned by the 
Guertler family. The Hotel Sacher is renowned for its 
"Original-Sachertorte" (a chocolate cake covered with 
apricot jam and chocolate icing, usually served with whipped cream) 
and its collection of 19%%sup th/%  century art. The company also 
owns the "Oesterreichischer Hof" hotel in the city of 
Salzburg.
