Salzburger Aluminium AG, SAG, founded in 1898 in Lend (Salzburg), the 
third Aluminium works in Europe. In 1992 management buyout and closure 
of the electrolysis works; today a holding company with several 
subsidiaries and production sites: Schwarzach im Pongau (Salzburg), 
Ranshofen (Upper Austria) and Guntramsdorf (Lower Austria), as well as 
Detroit (USA). Produces aluminium materials for foundries and pressing 
works as well as components for motor vehicles and windows. 
Consolidated group turnover in 1999: ATS 1.6 billion, 385 
employees.
