d. Vienna, June 14, 1999, musician. Studied violin at the Vienna 
Music Academy, member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra1936-65; 
from 1946 lecturer, 1968-82 Professor of Violin and Viola at the 
Vienna University of Music; considered one of the most eminent violin 
teachers of his time.
