Sandrart, Joachim von, b. Frankfurt am Main (Germany), May 12, 1606,
d. Nuremberg (Germany), Oct. 14, 1688, painter, copperplate engraver
and writer on art. Wrote the "Teutsche Academie" (1675), the most
important collection of sources of German baroque art.

Vienna: paintings in the Jesuit Church Am Hof; Schottenkirche
(formerly high altarpiece, now in the Praelatensaal hall; in the
church "Kreuzigung" and "Abschied der Apostel Petrus und Paulus");
Neulerchenfelder Pfarrkirche church (picture of the Crucifixion from
St. Stephen´s Cathedral). - Salzburg: altarpiece St. Anne with
Mary and the child Jesus in Salzburg Cathedral.
