b. Linz (Upper Austria), Sept. 28, 1945, actor, director, theatre 
manager. Studied at the Reinhardt Seminar drama school in Vienna, 1968 
first engagement at the Vienna Volkstheater, then at various German 
theatres (Munich, Berlin and Duesseldorf), 1976-1979 in Vienna 
(Theater in der Josefstadt, Komoedianten, Studio Molière, 
Volkstheater, Schauspielhaus) and at the Salzburg Festival; 1981-1985 
artistic director of the Renaissance Theatre in Berlin, 1986-1990 of 
the state-owned theatres in Berlin (succeeding B.  Gobert); afterwards 
free-lance actor and director; since 1995 intendant of the 
Schlossparktheater in Berlin.
