tunnelling and construction in rock. Since 1980 free-lance engineer 
with offices in Austria, Germany, the USA and Taiwan; expert on the 
construction of underground railways, visiting professor in Kassel. 
Achieved international recognition for the New Austrian Tunnelling 
Method.
