!!!Schönbrunner Tiergarten

Schoenbrunn Zoo, founded in 1752 by Emperor Franz I, husband of 
Maria Theresia, and built by J. N. Jadot, has since been in 
continuous use, making it the world´s oldest zoo. Renovated in 
1945 after heavy bomb damage. The zoo is home to approx. 850 species 
and approx. 4,650 specimens. "Tiroler Hof" farm (rare breeds 
of cattle and goats) and children´s zoo. New enclosure for big 
cats finished in 1994.
