Schoenherr, Max, b.Maribor, Slovenia (then Marburg), Nov. 23, 1903, 
d. Baden (Lower Austria), Dec. 14, 1984. Composer. Director of music 
at the Graz Opera, at the Marischka-Buehnen theatres in Vienna and the 
Vienna Volksoper; conducted the Vienna Radio Orchestra for more than 
40 years (from 1931). Studied musicology in his old age (especially J. 
Lanner, C. M. Ziehrer and J. Strauss the Elder). Numerous awards.
