Schuetzen am Gebirge, Burgenland, municipality in the district of 
Eisenstadt-Umgebung, alt. 130 m, pop. 1,347, area 
21.20 km%%sup 2/%, wine-growing village on the Wulka River, on 
the eastern foot of the Leithagebirge Mountains. - Provincial 
Hydraulic Engineering Authority. - Ancient artefact finds, old 
frontier guards settlement, formerly called "Gschiess". 
Baroque Catholic parish church with modern high altar, churchyard wall 
with old gravestones (17%%sup th/%  century), wayside shrines, 
animal reserve with hunting lodge (1794, today a ruin).
