!!!Schattenburg

Schattenburg, Vorarlberg, situated above the town of Feldkirch, one of 
the best-preserved castles in Central Europe, once the main residence 
of the counts of Montfort. Probably built around 1200, extended in the 
early 15%%sup th/%  century and around 1500, additions built in the 
17%%sup th/%  century. Frescoes in the castle chapel dating back to 
the 16%%sup th/%  century; contains a museum of local history, some 
rooms with Gothic panelling (since 1912).
