Schauta, Friedrich, b. Vienna, June 15, 1849, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 10, 1919, gynaecologist. Professor at the Universities 
of Innsbruck, Prague and Vienna; 2 operation methods were named after 
him. Played an eminent part in the development of gynaecology and 
together with R.  Chrobak initiated the construction of a new 
gynaecological hospital department in Vienna.
