Scheibelreiter, Ernst, b. Vienna, Nov. 13, 1897, 
d. Vienna, March 3, 1973, poet, narrative writer, playwright, 
essayist, writer of literature for young people and radio plays. 1930 
successful debut as a playwright with his work "Aufruhr im Dorf"; 1932 
publication of the poetry collection "Freundschaft mit der Stille". 
Became increasingly interested in National Socialism, 1936 member of 
the "Bund deutscher Schriftsteller Oesterreichs"; after the Anschluss 
1938 worked mainly for film and radio ("Wiener Kasperlhoerspiele" 
radio plays for children). After 1945 successful writer of literature 
for young people.
