b. Vienna, Oct. 7, 1875, 
d. Vienna, March 9, 1935, lawyer and politician (Social Democrat); son 
of Josef Franz Georg  Scheu, brother of Robert  Scheu, husband of 
Helene  Scheu-Riesz. 1919-1923 Social Democratic city councillor of 
Vienna. Was interested in the garden city movement (co-founded the 
centre for housing reform); as the legal advisor to housing 
co-operatives played an important role in the housing sector in Vienna 
and promoted contemporary artists such as A.  Loos and A.  Berg.
