!!!Schiffler, Sigmund Mathias

b. Vienna, Oct. 13, 1889, 
d. Klagenfurt (Carinthia), Nov. 19, 1944. Architect. After completing 
the School of Arts and Crafts he attended a special school for 
architects under F.  Ohmann. Studied at the Academy of Graphic Art 
(Akademie der bildenden Kuenste) in Vienna. After captivity in Russia, 
two years of constructional works in Sagorod near Vladivostok. He then 
founded an atelier with A. Eigener in Vienna in 1921, from 1927 
architect in Klagenfurt. In 1938 he and his family were persecuted for 
political reasons, and his licence as an architect was withdrawn from 
1939-1943.

Klagenfurt: city garage Liegl, 1929; residential building 
"Dreadnought", 1929-1934; detached house, 1930-1933. - Steindorf 
(Carinthia): local office of the charity association of the Austria 
Tabak Werke. - Malta (Carinthia): Pflueglhof, 1938.
