b. Vienna, Jan. 5, 1938, insurance agent, began to work for Austria 
Versicherung ( Austria-Collegialitaet, Oesterreichische Versicherungen 
AG) in 1957 and became the company's secretary general in 1964; 
1966 1970 played a crucial role in the development of an Italian 
subsidiary. 1970 member of the board and president from 1977. 
1997-1999 chairman of the board of  BARC Versicherungs-Holding AG and 
of  UNIQA Versicherungen AG 1999-2001.
