d. Vienna, July 20, 1957. Baritone singer, awarded the title of 
Kammersaenger*. 1911 at the Stadttheater Linz, 1912-1915 at the Vienna 
Volksoper, 1915-1916 and from 1938 at the Vienna State Opera; guest 
performances and appearances at the Salzburg Festival. Particularly 
appreciated for his Wagner roles
