d. Berlin (Germany), April 30, 1916. Theatre manager and dramatist. 
1886-1898 critic at the "Vossischen Zeitung" in Berlin, 1898-1910 
manager of the  Burgtheater. Welcomed as a representative of the 
modern age, heavily criticised by the press; published H. Ibsen's 
work, champion of G. Hauptmann.
