d. Prague (Czech Republic), Jan. 21, 1937. Surgeon. University 
Professor in Innsbruck and Graz. Was the first to perform surgery on a 
tumor of the pituitary gland; also contributions to the surgery of the 
intestinal tract. The S. tumours were named after him.
