Schmoegner, Walter, b. Vienna, June 11, 1943. Graphic artist, 
author and illustrator of childrens´ books, painter and 
sculptor. Studied at the Vienna School of Graphic Arts. Under the 
artistic influence of his father Theobald S. (painter and graphic 
artist), at first concentrated on graphic work and stage designs; 
since 1973 also mixed-medium compositions and oil paintings. His 
childrens´ books are characterised by wry humour and grotesque 
caricature.
