!!!Schneider, Ernst Leo

b. Gaya (Czech Republic), June 18, 1894, 
d. Vienna, June 1, 1975. Inventor. In 1926-1930 developed the 
Voith-Schneider ship propeller, which combines the propulsion and 
steering mechanisms and greatly enhances the manoeuvrability of ships. 
The propeller was manufactured in collaboration with the J. M. 
Voith engineering works at Heidenheim and St. Poelten.
