Goldmedaille bei den Olympischen Spielen 1952 in Oslo im Slalom, Silbermedaille im Abfahrtslauf. Danach Skilehrer und Skischulleiter in Chile und in den USA. Internationale Erfolge auch als Pistolenschütze (WM-Bronze 1974).
