!!!Scholz, Roman Karl

b. Šumperk, Czech Republic (then Maehrisch-Schoenberg), Jan. 16, 1912, 
d. Vienna, May 10, 1944, Augustinian canon in Klosterneuburg, 1939 
professor of theology and Christian philosophy at the Abbey School; 
directed an Austrian liberation movement in 1938-1940, was betrayed in 
1940, arrested, sentenced to death for preparations for high treason 
and executed in the Vienna Provincial Court (Landesgericht). His last 
words were: "For Christ and Austria".

Poems: Ferne feine Dinge, 1935. - Prose: Goneril, 1947 (written 
during imprisonment). - Dramas: Zu spaet; Maenner (both written in 
prison).
