b. Linz (Upper Austria), Sept. 15, 1955, art historian. Managing 
director of the Kunstforum Laenderbank (now Bank Austria) in 
1988-1999, which under his management has developed into an exhibition 
hall of international fame. 1996-1999 also commercial director of the 
Leopold Museum and since 1997 chairman of the committee charged with 
reorganizing the museums in Salzburg; director of the Graphic Art 
Collection of the  Albertina in Vienna since 2000.
