b. Vienna, March 3, 1852, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 24, 1895. Composer. Son of clarinettist Kaspar S., 
brother of Johann  Schrammel. Travelled the Orient as a famous 
violinist. With his brother he founded the S. Trio in 1878, the later  
Schrammel-Quartett; less successful as a composer than his brother.
