!!!Schrammel-Quartett

Schrammel-Quartett, originally founded as a trio by Johann Schrammel,
Josef Schrammel (violin) and their friend A. Strohmayer (double
guitar) in 1878; in 1879 G. Daenzer (clarinet) joined them to form the
famous Schrammel-Quartett; played popular Viennese music; its fame
spread beyond the Austrian borders (concert tours abroad). After the
death of Daenzer in 1893 the clarinet was replaced with an accordion.
The (original) Schrammel-Quartett was imitated by numerous other
musicians and still holds an important place among the typical
representatives of Viennese popular music.
