!!!Schreiber, Heinrich Grammateus

b. Erfurt (Germany), around 1490, 
d. Vienna,1525. Mathematician. Pupil of G.  Collimitius, studied in 
Vienna and Kraków, taught at the University of Vienna 
1517-1521. Influential mathematician, wrote mathematics text books in 
German; contributions to the symbolism of arithmetic and algebra (the 
first to consistently use plus and minus signs) and an instruction 
book for accountants.
