Schrott, Raoul, b. São Paulo (Brazil), Jan. 17, 1964, 
author, essayist, translator. Studied literature and linguistics in 
Norwich, Paris, Berlin and Innsbruck. 1986-1987 secretary of the 
French surrealist Philippe Soupault; 1990-1993 university lecturer in 
German studies in Naples; habilitation at the Department of 
Comparative Literature, University of Innsbruck. His main areas of 
research are Dadaism and the history of poetics. His novel "Finis 
terrae" (1995) and his edition "Die Erfindung der 
Poesie" (1997) found public acclaim. His translations into German 
include works by Jean-Pierre Maurel, Derek Walcott and poems by Jorge 
Luis Borges. Numerous prizes.
