!!!Schulpsychologischer Dienst

School Psychological Service (called Pedagogical and Psychological 
Service until 1975), established in the federal provinces under 
Anglo-American influence in the Second Republic (in Vienna as early as 
1948). Compulsory for all Provincial School Boards since 1962; 
organisational statutes were laid down in 1965 and 1968. The School 
Psychological Service advises parents whose children are about to 
start school or who have children with learning difficulties or 
developmental disorders; it also provides support for children 
changing from one school to another or faced with career choices ( 
Educational Guidance). In addition, it contributes to teachers´ 
further professional training and investigates to solve pedagogical 
and psychological problems.
