b. Vienna, Dec. 26, 1892, 
d. Vienna, July 24, 1972. Architect and furniture designer. 
Studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts with H. Tessenow, 
later became his assistant and accompanied him to the Handwerkerschule 
craft school in Dresden-Heller in 1919. 1923-1925 head of the 
architects of the Austrian Association of Housing and Allotment 
Gardens (Oesterreichischer Verband fuer Siedlungs- u. 
Kleingartenwesen). 1926-1927 teacher at the Vienna School of Arts and 
Crafts, 1927-1933 in Frankfurt am Main. From 1937 head of the 
course of architecture at the School of Applied Art in Vienna. 1967 
Grand Austrian State Prize.

(with F. Schacherl); Montessori Kindergarten, Vienna 1st district, 
Rudolfsplatz, 1929-1931; Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung West housing 
scheme, Vienna 10th district, 1947-1951 and 1954/55 (with F. Pangratz, 
S. Simony a. E. Woerle); residential buildings and homes for the 
elderly, Vienna 12th district, 1951-1957; 
Pensionsversicherungsanstalt, Vienna 9th district, Rossauer Laende, 
1955-1957.
