!!!Schuster, Ignaz

b. Vienna, July 20, 1779, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 6, 1835. Actor, singer, composer. At first a 
singer, he soon changed to dramatic art, acted at various Viennese 
theatres, esp. at the  Leopoldstaedter Theater. Here he created the 
character of the umbrella-maker Chrysostomus  Staberl in A.  
Baeuerle's "Die Buerger in Wien" in 1813. The character subsequently 
appeared in numerous "Staberliaden", comedies with typically 
Viennese comic characters; from 1817 rivalry with F.  Raimund at the 
Leopoldstaedter Theater; 1830 first joint appearance. 1812-1828 
directing work at the Leopoldstaedter Theater, composed the incidental 
music for plays by A. Baeuerle,  Perinet, J. A.  Gleich, also 
lieder and masses.
