Schwanthaler, Franz Jakob, b. Ried im Innkreis (Upper Austria), 
Aug. 2, 1760, d. Munich (Germany), Dec. 4, 1820, 
sculptor; son of Johann Peter  Schwanthaler the Elder, brother of 
Johann Peter  Schwanthaler the Younger, father of Ludwig Michael  
Schwanthaler. Lived in Munich from 1780. His major works in Upper 
Austria are the altars at St. Martin im Innkreis.
