commercial and trading centre situated on the River Schwarzach, at the 
eastern edge of the Rhine valley between Bregenz and Dornbirn. - Home 
and recreation centre for blind people, multi-purpose hall, young 
people´s home; mechanical engineering, textile industry, organ 
constructors, offset printing works, Vorarlberg Media House, warehouse 
for textiles. - Documented mention in 1249; neo-Gothic parish church 
(1901-1903); Einhof farmsteads (some from 18%%sup th/%  century).
