b. Lienz (Tyrol), Feb. 5, 1918. Neurologist and politician 
(Association of Independents - VdU, Freedom Party, FPOe). 1949-1956 
Member of the Carinthian Provincial Parliament (VdU), 1966-1979 Member 
of the Nationalrat (FPOe). With his nationalist-oriented NFA 
(National-Freiheitliche-Aktion)-movement he opposed the (liberal) 
policy of the FPOe under N.  Steger in 1984; ran for President in 
1986.
