Seekirchen am Wallersee, province of Salzburg, market town in the 
district of Salzburg-Umgebung, alt. 512 m, pop. 8,273 (pop. 6,815 
1981), area 50.28 km%%sup 2/%, summer tourist resort (51,783 
overnight stays in 1992) in the south-west of Lake Wallersee, in the 
middle Flachgau region. - School Psychological Service and Educational 
Guidance of the Provincial School Board, agricultural vocational 
school, SOS-Kinderdorf (children´s village), day centre of the 
Lebenshilfe welfare organisation, young people´s home of the 
Austrian Federation of Trade Unions, festival hall, Fantasiana 
fairy-tale park, public bathing facilities; construction of heating 
systems, building and construction industry, tin factory. - Baroque 
collegiate church (documented mention around 700, formerly Carolingian 
and Romanesque) with Gothic choir and late-Gothic crypt, 
reconstruction around 1670 by A. Dario, collegiate monastery used by 
secular priests since 1679; late-Gothic church of St. Nikolaus in 
Waldprechting; Seeburg Palace with circular wall and four corner 
towers, present form of the complex since the middle of the 
18%%sup th/%  century; local heritage museum and monastery museum; old 
traditional farmsteads (17%%sup th/%  - 18%%sup th/%  centuries) in 
various parts of Seekirchen.
