b. Basle (Switzerland), around 1486, 
d. Munich (Germany), between Dec. 2, 1542 and Aug. 10, 1543. Composer. 
One of the most important composers of German 16th century community 
songs; was a member of the Imperial Court Orchestra in Innsbruck from 
1496, close collaboration with H.  Isaac, whose copyist he was). From 
about 1510 he received an imperial pension, continued to be in close 
contact with the court orchestra; employed at the Munich court from 
1523.
