!!!Serapions Theater

Serapions Theater (located in the Odeon theatre), founded in 1973 by 
E.  Piplits and Ulrike Kaufmann under the name of 
"PupoDrom". Since 1980 avant-garde theatre company called 
"Serapions Theater". Since 1988 located in the stateroom of 
the former commodity exchange (Odeon, dating from 1889) in the 
2%%sup nd/%  district of Vienna. Name and programme were adopted as 
indicative of the company´s interest in E. T. A. 
Hoffmann´s literary society of "Serapion Brothers": a 
mixture of poetry, scenic forms and music; developed from pure puppet 
theatre via masques to new scenic forms aimed at visual confrontation; 
numerous tours in Austria and abroad.
