!!!Seusenhofer, Konrad
Seusenhofer, Konrad,
d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Aug. 30, 1517. Most important armourer of the
Early Renaissance in Central Europe, brother of Hans Seusenhofer.
First mentioned in 1500. Came to Innsbruck with his brother Hans, was
made court armourer in 1504, built the armour workshop of the court
(in today's Landhaus building) in 1505/06. S. continued the legacy of
the Treitz family at the Innsbruck court, improved the form of the
armour and the horse armour (with the collaboration of
Maximilian I), produced the first armours for lansquenets and was
the first to reflect motives of traditional costumes in the patterns
of his armours.
