Sierndorf, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Korneuburg, 
alt. 191 m, pop. 2,786, area 55.08 km%%sup 2/%, on the lower 
reaches of the Goellersbach stream, northwest of Stockerau. - Animal 
cemetery; construction of pavilions for trade fairs; mill, warehouse, 
metal working and wood processing. - Palace (1516, renovated around 
1730) with palace chapel (parish church) in the transitional style 
between Late Gothic and Renaissance, choir gallery with portrait busts 
(1516), beautiful Renaissance winged altar (1518) with 
three-dimensional shrine groups and wooden reliefs, another 
Renaissance altar (around 1520) with high relief figures; pillory 
(around 1580).
