!!!Sievering

Sievering, since 1890/92 part of the 19%%sup th/%  district of Vienna  
Doebling. The two villages of Ober- and Unter-Sievering have partly 
preserved their character as vintners´ villages: handed over to 
Klosterneuburg abbey by margrave Leopold III in 1136; given back 
to the local prince in the 15%%sup th/%  century; changed hands 
several times afterwards. Documented mention in different spellings: 
Sufringen (1114), Sivring (1156), Sifring (1396). Parish church, 
documented mention in 1330 (as chapel) and in 1348 (as parish).
