b. Hohenau (Lower Austria), July 31, 1896, 
d. Hohenau (Lower Austria), June 24, 1969, (film) actor. Debut at the 
Wiener Volksbuehnen theatre, then engagements at the Deutsches Theater 
in Prague, at the Volkstheater in Vienna and at the Reinhardt stages 
in Berlin, after 1945 at the Wiener Buergertheater; from 1921 popular 
film comedian (already appeared in silent movies). Withdrew from 
filming at the end of the 1950s and devoted himself to horsebreeding.
