b. Vienna, April 7, 1924, best-seller author, journalist and 
scriptwriter. Lived in Austria and Great Britain during his childhood, 
worked as interpreter for the US military government after World War 
II, moved to Germany in 1950 and wrote for "Quick" magazine. 
free-lance writer since 1963, today lives in Switzerland. His 
suspense-packed novels on topics such as espionage, war and neo-Nazism 
have made him one of the most successful contemporary German-speaking 
authors (over 70 million copies world-wide; translations in over 30 
languages).
