!!!Sina, Georg Simon Freiherr von

b. Niš (Yugoslavia), Nov. 20, 1783, 
d. Vienna, May 18, 1856, banker; father of Simon Georg von  Sina. Came 
to Vienna with his Greek-born father, Simon Georg Sina the Elder 
(1753-1822). Founded a bank, owned real estate in Hungary, Bohemia, 
Moravia and Lower Austria (Mauerbach, Rappoltenkirchen, Gfoehl, 
Leopoldsdorf) and property in Vienna. Invested in new factories and 
railway construction. As one of the richest men in the monarchy around 
1850 he was the strongest rival of the  Rothschild family.
