Skraup, Zdenko Hans von, b. Prague (Czech Republic), March 3, 
1850, d. Vienna, Sept. 10, 1910, chemist, professor at the Vienna 
Commercial College, 1887-1906 professor at the University of 
technology and at the University of Graz (1887), professor at the 
University of Vienna from 1906. Worked mainly in the field of 
vegetable substances, esp. in that of cinchona alkaloids. 1880 
achieved the synthesis of quinoline.
